From Poonurwala, we reached Dambulla !!! This place is known for its Golden Temple and cave temple. On the right you see the golden temple at Dambulla. I remember having heard that this statue is visible from the flight when you come to Sri Lanka. But I must admit that the statue was so gaudy and bright in its appearance as is seen on the photo - a grandeur is all I can say !!!

Question: does it just look golden or is it made out of gold?
I have a thing with gold... maybe it's cuz the spaniards took most of it to Spain after they robbed latinamerican natives, or built very ostentatious temples here that I'm not much of a gold person...
The image of Buddha is nice tho, his hands in that position and that thingy with teeth under it... I like it, tho I would probably like it better wasn't it so golden :S
