The Bo Tree at Anuradhapura !
This tree is believed to be the sapling of the holy, sacred "Bo tree" in gaya, India under which Siddhartha Gauthama attained enlightenment and became Lord Buddha.

Okay so... since this was part of the tour... is this THE tree? or is it the type of tree???
It seems to me it has the same white and red signs I saw in the pic of the bunkers...
Ok, the stroy/myth/fact goes as like this.
Buddha was born as a Prince in northern part of India under the name of Siddhartha Gautama and sought to find solutions to the problems of men. He meditated under a Bo Tree in Gaya, India and obtained his enlightenment.
The tree in anuradhapura is a sapling of the Bo Tree ( a branch was brought here and grown ) and therefore is a part of the sacred tree itself !!!!
That is amazing! Is like I told u one day about traveling to some specific places, to be in the place where these things really happened, or in this case, to be in the presence of something that took part of an extraordinary fact.
I can't say anything else, and don't want to spoil my ideas trying to put more words here.
and then ... this sapling was brought to sri lanka by Ashoka's daughter as a gift... i dun remember her name... there was a status of her handing over the sapling to the king... nah?
